All cakes are made to order so I will need time to prepare and this is especially so for hand crafted/ bespoke cakes, so slots are limited. To avoid disappointment, book as far ahead as possible. Having said that, if I have availability I am happy work with short notice (design and requirement dependant), so do drop me a message to discuss if you find yourself last minute short of a cake.
Typical lead times are 24 hours for regular iced cake(s), 2-3 days for a pre-designed hand crafted cake, 3+ days for a fully bespoke handcrafted cake.
A non-refundable 25% deposit will be required after initial discussions to secure the booking should you wish to go ahead. Full payment will be required before work is started on the cake and a minimum of 7 days before collection/delivery date of the cake(s). Failure to make full payment by this date may mean there is not enough time to complete the cake(s) to your full requirement or a cancellation of your booking with forfeit of your deposit. Payments should be made via bank transfer.
All of our cake recipes use “traditional ingredients” meaning eggs, fat, diary and wheat flour. Although we do also make some cakes using vegetable fats and without diary. Do ask or check back in the future if you are looking for allergen free items as we are currently working on our allergen free range.
All products are made in a kitchen that handles nuts and other common food allergens.
As all products are hand made, slight variations in the design are to be expected. I reserve the right to alter a design without consulting the client if I deem it necessary, but these changes will be minimal. If anything significant is foreseen, I will endeavour to consult with the customer on the alteration.
Occasionally a certain component or ingredient of a bake may not be available. If this happens I reserve the right to substitute with a suitable alternative without notifying the customer to produce a similar product. Should an alternative not be available, the customer will be notified and given the option to substitute for an alternative bake or cancel. If this bake forms a part of a larger order, any other bake that has already been produced (in full or in part) remains payable.
Presentation and assembly
Where possible cakes will come fully decorated and assembled, however as decorations are delicate, some will be packed separately to hopefully prevent damage while in transit. These cakes will require a small amount of assembly after delivery or collection.
Cakes are provided on a cake board or drum and are packed in one or more boxes. We do not provide cake stands or any cake serving equipment, those that you see in the images are for styling purposes only.
Consumption of decorations
Please be aware, that whilst most of the decorations on our handcrafted cakes are made from edible fondant/sugar paste, they will also often contain items like flower wires, cocktail sticks or skewers to support decorations and stop them falling over etc. If accidentally swallowed, these items could pose a serious choking hazard. We therefore advise that should you wish to consume our decorations, please take care to fully inspect for and remove such items before consumption and before giving them to children.
Delivery and Collection
I can deliver within certain time slots within 25km from St Margarets in Twickenham. Delivery fees will be provided as part of quotation.
Delivery cost is dependant on distance from St Margarets in Twickenham and any fees incurred such as parking and congestion charge.
Collections can be arranged in person or by your own courier. I cannot accept responsibility for any damages once the cake has been handed over to yourself or your courier.
If for whatever reason cakes are not collected or can not be received at the agreed time, I will keep the cake refrigerated for 24 hours (space allowing). Should this not be possible or the re-collection or re-delivery (at customers cost) can not be arranged within this time, I reserve the right to dispose of the cake. I cannot accept any responsibility for any deterioration of the cake after the initial agreed collection/delivery date and time.
